Week 1: An Enterprise Roadmap to Elastic Computing
Date: Wednesday, July 29th, 2015
Time: 8:00 AM PDT/11:00 AM EDT
Duration: 45 min
Presenter: Tony Spagnuolo, VP Sales, Rescale, Inc.

Abstract:

Simulation is a critical tool to drive product innovation while meeting product development schedules. However, the challenge is that the number of simulations required for product development varies drastically and that traditional on-premise HPC has become a bottleneck to provide timely and complete simulation results to drive the design process. Rescale’s ScaleX Enterprise platform is an enabler to transform a static system into a dynamic environment that can respond to the variable demands of engineering simulations.

In this webinar, we will outline the roadmap to bring cloud and on-premise resources together into a consolidated environment that provides elasticity and responsiveness to drive innovation for next generation product development. The business case for such a transformation will be outlined and decision points will be reviewed and stated.

At the conclusion of this webinar presentation, you will have a high level roadmap that leverages the ScaleX Enterprise platform to transform your existing IT and simulation resources into a unified and elastic environment.

Week 2: Integrating On-Premise HPC with Cloud HPC
Date: Wednesday, August 5, 2015
Time: 8:00 AM PDT/11:00 AM EDT
Duration: 45 min
Presenter: Ryan Kaneshiro, Chief Architect, Rescale, Inc.

Abstract:

Organizations looking to leverage the cloud for additional compute capacity are often left wondering how to connect elastic resources with existing on-premise clusters. Questions often arise around how to securely access licenses from outside the firewall as well as how users can integrate cloud resources into their existingworkflow with minimal disruption.

In this webinar, we will cover a number of different integration options for using Rescale’s ScaleX Enterprise platform with your on-premise infrastructure. Specifically, you will learn about:

  • Configuring a license proxy or VPN to securely access an on-premise license server.
  • Using the command line interface (CLI) capability of the API to burst to Rescale’s platform from a custom batch script or a traditional HPC scheduler.
  • How the API can be used if a deeper level of integration with an on-premise application or script is required.
